Just working on the different
Financial Interchange formats used for Quicken MS Money and
open source like GnuCash.
The data exchange formats used by Quicken and MS Money and GnuCash
In todays world the cloud seems to wipe away the differences and possibly tries to do the last piece of vendor buy in for
the average consumer. Data mobility and choice of vendor might be in the end just a choice of what Hyperscaler one prefers.
Allowing for easy communication between different vendor silos is still something that a smart consumer should understand.
Moving financial transactions between vendors and providers gives the consumer more power in negotiations for price
and conditions. A captive audience is at the end a less happy audience.
Import and export functions of GnuCash use the CSV format which
is the old standard without the overhead of more verbose markup languages.
